Gene Pinson, III Laurens Eugene Brabham "Big Gene" Pinson, III, 54, of 687 Raider Road, husband of Ann Babb Pinson, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2010 at his home.
Born in Clinton, he was a son of the late Eugene Brabham "Red" Pinson, Jr. and Toni Ownby Pinson. He was a member and deacon of Friendship Presbyterian Church. Mr. Pinson was the co-owner and ran Red's Burger Masters in Clinton, a sports announcer for all sports and now a well known personality on WLBG Radio in Laurens, and was the manager and booker for Days Off Screen which included band members: Justin Pinson, Joel Pinson, Caleb Craigo, Davey Davenport and Adam Overstreet.
Surviving in addition to his wife are twin sons, Justin E. Pinson and Joel P. Pinson of the home; a brother, John "Johnny" Pinson and wife Marti of Canton, Ohio; a sister, Janice P. Blalock and husband Bunky of Marietta, Ga.; two aunts, Dorothy Mae Pinson and Mary Frances Pinson both of Clinton; and four nephews; John Pinson, Brett Pinson, H.F. Blalock and Rob Blalock.
Big Gene was a loving father to more than his own children.
He was predeceased by an aunt, Ann Hart Pinson.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Friendship Presbyterian Church Cemetery conducted by Dr. Robert D. Cathcart, Jr., Rev. Anthony Sims, and Mr. Randy Stevens.
The family will be at the residence and will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
