Thomas Dean (Tommy) Sims age 50, of 8595 Cross Anchor Highway died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at his home. He was born in Spartanburg and was the son of Jeanne Lamb Sims Hannah of Clinton and the late Gordon Hellams Sims and step son of the late James Calvin Hannah. Mr. Sims was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, he was the Director of Sales and Marketing for ESPN 1400AM radio in Spartanburg. He was the Producer and Director of the Piedmont Pick-um Show, a sports talk radio show for over 14 years. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a recent golf enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, Linda Morgan Sims of the home; a step daughter, Misty Petras of Boiling Springs; six grandchildren, Cameron and Morgan Hughes, Kashe and A’rion Rhodes, Kyleigh and Kylan Petras. Mr. Sims was predeceased by a step daughter, Stacie Rhodes. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 23rd at 3:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with burial in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Cross Anchor. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Tommy Sims Memorial Fund, P.O.
